What does the Deeds Office do and how do I get a copy of a Title Deed or Marriage Contract?

What does the Deeds Office do and how do I get a copy of a Title Deed or Marriage Contract?

The Deeds Office is responsible for the registration, management and maintenance of the property registry of South Africa. To obtain a copy of a deed or document you can either go to one of the 11 Deeds Offices (depending on where the property is registered) OR log a request on our website at www.deedsoffice.online and get it delivered electronically.

It is important to note that the Deeds Office only keeps copies of registration documents and marriage contracts. Original Title Deeds are either kept by the owner if paid off or by the bank if bonded. The same goes for Marriage Contracts (ANC).
